Used Car Inspection. Before You Buy.

Independent pre-purchase inspections in Creemore & Collingwood.

Before You Buy

The Cheapest Insurance You'll Ever Get.

Buying a used vehicle is one of the bigger financial decisions most people make. And the difference between a solid buy and a money pit isn't always visible from the driver's seat. A test drive tells you how a vehicle feels right now. An inspection tells you what's coming next.

We see it regularly — someone buys a vehicle in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach, drives it for a few weeks, and then discovers it needs thousands in brake work, has a transmission issue, or is rotting from underneath. These aren't things that show up on a Kijiji ad. They show up on a lift.

A pre-purchase inspection costs a fraction of what a single surprise repair runs. It gives you the information to negotiate a fair price, walk away from a bad deal, or buy with confidence. If the seller won't let you get it inspected, that tells you something too. We've outlined common warning signs that apply here as well.

Know what you're buying before you sign anything.

The Inspection

What We Actually Look At.

We put the vehicle on a lift and go through it systematically. Brakes — pad thickness, rotor condition, caliper function, brake lines. Suspension — ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings, shocks and struts, springs. We check for play, wear, and damage that a test drive won't reveal.

Underneath, we inspect for rust. Not surface rust — every Ontario vehicle has that. We're looking for structural corrosion. Subframe integrity, rocker panels, wheel wells, brake and fuel lines. In Simcoe County, salt damage is the number one killer of used vehicles, and it's often hidden by undercoating or fresh paint. Rust damage that's already taken hold can't be undone.

We check the engine and drivetrain — oil condition, coolant, transmission fluid, leaks, belt and hose condition, exhaust integrity. We run a diagnostic scan for stored and pending trouble codes. And we document everything with photos in a digital inspection report you can review on your phone.

We check what matters — not just what's easy to see.

What We Find

The Issues That Don't Show Up on a Test Drive.

The most common finding on used vehicles in this area is rust — specifically, undercarriage corrosion that's more advanced than it looks from the outside. We've inspected vehicles that looked great in photos but had brake lines ready to burst and subframes that were structurally compromised. Ontario winters don't forgive.

Worn brakes are another frequent find. Pads that are close to metal, rotors that are below minimum thickness, seized slide pins that cause uneven wear. These are expensive to fix after you buy, but they're powerful negotiating tools when you know about them before you sign.

We also catch deferred maintenance — old transmission fluid that's never been changed, engine oil that's been run too long, coolant that's lost its protective properties. These aren't deal-breakers on their own, but they tell a story about how the previous owner treated the vehicle. Taken together with everything else, they help you understand what you'd be taking on if you decide to weigh the fix-versus-replace decision.

Every used vehicle has a history. We help you read it.

How It Works

Simple Process. Clear Answers.

Bring the vehicle to our shop in Creemore, or have the seller bring it. If you're buying from a dealer in Collingwood or Stayner, most reputable dealers will let you take it to an independent shop for inspection — and if they won't, that's a red flag worth paying attention to.

The inspection takes about an hour. We go through everything on the lift, run the diagnostic scan, and compile the results into a digital report with photos. You'll get it on your phone while you wait, or we'll walk you through it in person. We'll tell you what's good, what needs attention now, and what's likely to need attention in the near future.

We don't tell you whether to buy the vehicle. That's your call. What we give you is the information to make that decision with your eyes open. If the vehicle checks out, great — buy with confidence. If there are issues, you can negotiate the price down, ask the seller to address them, or walk away. Either way, you're making an informed choice. Drivers across Simcoe County — from Wasaga Beach to Nottawa to Clearview Township — use this service regularly, and it saves them money every time.

An hour on the lift can save you thousands down the road.
